2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Winemaking

Our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunning Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Cabernet Franc, sourced from several of our estate vineyards amongst the Napa Valley. The fruit was hand harvested at night to retain freshness and acidity. After a 5 day cold soak, the wines began native fermentation in a combination of oak and stainless steel. We completed two pumpovers per day, until dry, and pressed between 14-21 days. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel, 100% French oak, 80% new. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes

The nose is intense and expressive with aromas of boysenberry, milk chocolate, and lavender. The palate is generous, showing layers of ripe dark fruit supported by fine-grained tannins that give shape and tension. A well-defined mid-palate provides structure without heaviness, and the finish is long, persistent, and carries notes of fruit and subtle cocoa through to the end. This wine will is approachable in relative youth, but will continue to age gracefully for 10+ years.
